New 2019 offers

  • Isaiah Spiller, a four-star running back from Texas is fresh off a de-commitment from Oklahoma. He's picked up offers from Penn State and Michigan since reopening his recruitment.
  • David Ojabo, like current Penn State signee Jason Oweh, is a former basketball star who is still new to football. Despite 2017 being his first year of organized football, the defensive end currently has 26 offers.
  • Joey Porter Jr. out of North Allegheny High School could play either defensive back or wide receiver in college. He also used #Nattylions which is what I will refer to Penn State as from now on.
  • Travis Tisdale (Valdosta, GA) is a four-star running back with offers from LSU, USC, Nebraska, Minnesota, and West Virginia.
  • Becoming the seventh four-star tight end Penn State has offered this cycle, Ethan Rae is a 6-5/240 giant with offers from marquee programs all over the country, including Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Florida.

Big time visits

  • Penn State had a lot of big names on campus, including Dino Tomlin, son of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. This was Tomlin's first visit to Happy Valley but it looks like he'll be making the journey back for camp later this year.
  • Also in Happy Valley this week were four-star 2019 California tight end Isaiah Foskey (official visit), 2020 offensive lineman Alex Atcavage and four-star linebacker Brandon Smith. Smith is the top inside linebacker in the 2019 class, the 26 overall prospect, and probably Penn State's top defensive target. This was Smith's fifth visit to Happy Valley.

Jersey opening

The New Jersey Opening was held over the weekend and featured plenty of talent the Nittany Lions hope to tap into.

  • Bryan Breese, the number one player in the 2020 class looked the part against some of the top talents in the area. I also have a friend who met him and said he is a very nice person.
  •   Saquon Barkley was also at the Jersey Opening to support his younger brother Ali. An Opening alum, Barkley looked like he was having a good time watching the next wave of college football stars.
  • DB Nick Cross (DeMatha) has exploded with offers since the end of his junior season. It's easy to see why as Cross posted the highest Nike SPARQ score at the even, BY FAR.
