It has been a quiet start to the Class of 2019 for Penn State, but things figure to start changing in the coming weeks. Five-star LB Brandon Smith (Mineral, VA), arguably Penn State's top target in the class, will announce his commitment on Monday, May 21 at Louisa County High School.

Smith was last on campus in early-April for an unofficial visit, his fourth since being offered in April of 2017, and fifth going back to March of last year.
The blue chip prospect is the top player in Virginia, the No. 2 inside linebacker in the nation, and No. 29 player overall nationally. The 247Sports Crystal Ball is solidly in Penn State's favor, including my forecast from back in January of this year, as well as Nittany Lion insider Sean Fitz, and 247Sports insider Steve Wiltfong.
Another pair of top targets for Penn State are set to announce later this week when four-star RB Devyn Ford, and four-star DE Antonio Alfano make their commitments known on Friday.
