Weekend visits

With classes out for the summer, it was a great weekend for the staff to get some targets to campus for a quiet recruiting weekend. 2019 OLB Josh Ahern made the trip to Happy Valley and seemed to leave happy.

The Nittany Lions have had some success getting players from Lackawanna Community College to come to Penn State. They hope for similar success with offensive tackle Anthony Whigan.

2019 defensive end Hakeem Beamon also made his way up to Happy Valley from Virginia over the weekend. A former UNC commit, Beamon picked up a Penn State offer back in January.

New offers

Four-star safety Nehki Meredith picked up a Penn State offer last week. The Virginia native is the fifth-ranked safety in the 2020 class.

Ty Robinson, a four-star athlete from Arizona, added a Penn State offer to his impressive list. Arizona hasn't been a state that the Nittany Lions have found much success, with no players from the Grand Canyon State on the roster.

James Franklin is looking to add to his impressive group fo edge rushers, offering 2019 DE Ruke Orhorhoro. He has a very long, cool last name, but it is only made up of three letters.

After missing out on Justin Fields, the Nittany Lions returned to Georgia in search of their quarterback of the future. 6'4/225 gunslinger Aaron McLaughlin could be just that. McLaughlin is one of the few 2021 prospects with a Penn State offer at this stage.

Decision szn

One of the biggest names on the Nittany Lions' recruiting trail has been Catawissa's own Julian Fleming. The number two player in the entire country for 2020, Fleming could have some good news for Penn State fans sooner rather than later.

Five-star 2019 linebacker Brandon Smith will announce his college decision in one week. The top player in Virginia and the number two inside linebacker has been on campus a handful of times over the past year.

Four-star running back Devyn Ford and four-star defensive end Antonio Alfano are scheduled to announce their decisions on Friday.
