Monday evening could be a big one for James Franklin and the Penn State football program. Five-star linebacker Brandon Smith had already shared his plan to announce his commitment at a 5 p.m. ceremony in Virginia. Four-star safety Tyler Rudolph (Waterbury, CT) will be doing the same one hour later.
I will be committing May 21st, 6pm at St. Thomas More Gymnasium. The Public & media are invited to join ..

Rudolph has been a priority target in the 2019 class for some time. He first camped for the Nittany Lion staff in July of 2017, and earned his offer in November when visiting for the home finale vs. Nebraska.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball has been solidly in Penn State's favor since early-February leading up to a Junior Day visit. A Clemson offer later that month certainly grabbed his attention, however, and he visited the Tigers a week before his official visit to Happy Valley over Blue-White Weekend. Rudolph also had an official visit scheduled for early-June, but that would appear to be off with a commitment coming in just six days.
