After landing Oregon native Micahel Johnson Jr. earlier this season, Penn State is looking to continue growing its footprint out west. Four-star California corner Clark Phillips III is the latest to benefit, earning an offer last week. Phillips is the sixth-ranked corner in the 2020 class.
Excited and blessed to be offered by Penn State this morning. Thanks to all the staff. pic.twitter.com/FQU4GCm0VZ

Landing guys like Shane Simmons, Jason Oweh, and Micah Parsons, before he switched to linebacker, has given Penn State a reputation for reeling in top defensive end talent. James Franklin is hoping he can get another pass rusher in North Carolina native Desmond Evans. A five-star prospect, Evans is a top-30 player nationally, and the second-ranked defensive end in the class of 2020.

Evans wasn't the only defensive end to pick up an offer last week. Penn State has entered the fray for Elijah Roberts, a three-star prospect from Florida. A Miami commit, Roberts is 17th ranked defensive end in the 2020 class.

Lions make Mcintosh's cut
Four-star running back Kenny McIntosh is one of the most sought-after players in the 2019 class. The 6'0, 218 lb. prospect put the Nittany Lions in his top eight, along with Big Ten foe Ohio State and programs closer to home like Florida and Miami. McIntosh is considered a hard Miami lean, where his older bother RJ played from 2015-17.

Hoops adds to the 2019 class
James Franklin isn't the only one doing work on the recruiting trail. Pat Chambers and his staff landed a commitment from 2019 small forward Justin McKoy. At 6'8/225, he has the look of a guy who could play both forwards. This is Penn State's third commitment in the 2019 class.

Fleming back on campus
For the second time in as many home games, 2020 wide receiver Julian Fleming was on hand to watch Penn State on Saturday. A five-star prospect, the Catawissa, PA native is seen as one of the, if not the top target for James Franklin and his staff in a loaded 2020 class.
