It has been entirely too long since Penn State went into South Florida and plucked out one of the Sunshine State's elite players. Led by running backs coach, and Miami native Ja'Juan Seider, that is exactly what the Nittany Lions have done with four-star wide receiver John Dunmore. After some late drama with Miami, the blue-chip pass catcher affirmed his commitment from the summer and is headed to Happy Valley.

After pulling in perhaps the nation's top wide receiver class in 2018 with blue-chippers Justin Shorter, Jahan Dotson, and Daniel George, the position was not necessarily a high priority for Penn State in 2019. However, Dunmore is a unique kind of player. He is not exceptionally fast (4.7 40-yard dash per 247Sports), but he is an exceptional route runner, extremely athletic (36" vertical), and catches just about everything that is thrown his way. In short, he's a great compliment to what the rest of the wide receiver room brings to the table.
With everyone ahead of Dunmore on the depth chart when he arrives on campus next year, it's hard to see exactly where he would fit in right away. While he will see action like Shorter and George both did as true freshmen, it would be a surprise to see him play in more than four games as a freshman. With that said, Dotson showed that if you are ready and capable, you'll play.
