Penn State continues its invasion of the DMV, this time securing a commitment from four-star cornerback Joshuah Moten out of the National Christian Academy in Maryland. Moten announced the news with a video on his Twitter account.

Penn State got in on Moten with an offer in January 2018. He announced a top-8 back in November 2018 that included Penn State, Arkansas, Maryland, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, and Syracuse. The Terps were surely hoping to delay this commitment to give new head coach Mike Locksley a chance to establish a relationship and buy themselves some time. Franklin wasn't going to lose this one, however.

The Moten File

  • Class: 2020
  • Size: 5'11/165 lbs.
  • Pos: CB
  • School: National Christian Academy (Fort Washington, MD)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★★ (.9159)
  • Composite Rank: No. 229 overall (No. 19 CB)

Moten hasn't been entirely busy on the recruiting trail. Since he receiving his Penn State offer, the only other school he's visited in any capacity was North Carolina for a camp last June. He's visited Penn State four times, including this weekend's Junior Day. He found the school he liked and there clearly wasn't much need to keep exploring. The offers will surely continue to come, but this one feels secure.

This figures to be the first of several DMV products to head to Penn State in the 2020 class. The region is loaded with talent in the class, and the Nittany Lions are set to take full advantage.

Moten makes it No. 4 for the Class of 2020, bringing PSU to No. 13 in the team rankings according to the 247Sports Composite.
