A long-time Florida State commit, Cross looked seemed like a likely flip candidate for Penn State all the way up through National Signing Day last week. The Maryland native the spent weekend leading into Signing Day in Happy Valley.
The Terps seemingly came out of nowhere to earn Cross' services. It was long presumed that it had come down to the aforementioned Seminoles and the Nittany Lions to earn his services. Cross not picking a school on National Signing Day was a telltale sign that the Terps were very much in the race. It had been rumored that his parents favored him attending a school closer to home. His high school coach, Elijah Brooks, is now on the coaching staff in College Park as well.
Penn State finishes the 2019 cycle with the 13th ranked class nationally and the second-ranked class in the Big Ten.
