Penn State has been searching for their Class of 2020 quarterback for quite some time. They had to venture all the way to the desert and fabulous Las Vegas to find the right guy. Three-star dual threat quarterback Micah Bowens has committed to the Nittany Lions.
Bowens was a relative unknown for Penn State until very recently. He received his offer while visiting Happy Valley with teammates less than three weeks ago. His Feb. 1 visit to Pennsylvania was his first time on campus, but clearly Ricky Rahne, and James Franklin had liked what they saw from him heading into to that visit.
The BOWeNS File
- Class: 2020
- Size: 6'1, 195 lbs.
- Pos: QB
- School: Bishop Gorman HS (Las Vegas, NV)
- Composite Rating: ★★★ (.8527)

Prior to being offered by the Nittany Lions, Bowens had been offered by Arizona, BYU, Duke, Kansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, and West Virginia, among others. According to 247Sports, he had not visited any programs since late 2017.
Bowens' game breaking speed is the first thing that jumps out. He ran a 4.54 40, and put up nearly 1,000 yards rushing this past season. He's more than just a runner, however, accounting for 29 scores and just under 3,000 yards through the air as a junior. He shows impressive arm strength as well.
This the fifth commitment in Penn State's 2020 class, which is now ranked No. 16 according to the 247Sports Composite.
