On Sunday afternoon, 2020 five-star linebacker Antoine Sampah took another step in his recruitment and released a top-8. Penn State made the cut along with Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, and Oregon.
Sampah has surely taken his due diligence when it comes to his recruitment as he has taken a huge number of visits to a myriad of schools. He's visited Penn State twice in the past year, according to 247Sports, including a visit for the 2018 White Out. Surprisingly, he's actually visited North Carolina more than any other school.
With the hire of Mack Brown, the Tar Heels should not be taken lightly. However, given his status as an elite recruit and any recruits desire to win a lot of games at the college level, it's more likely Penn State and Clemson sit in enviable positions, with North Carolina as the darkhorse. As always, Alabama should never be counted out for any five-star.
