One of the better JUCO defensive tackles in the country, Perrion Winfrey announced a top-8 of Oregon, Nebraska, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas, LSU, and Alabama. That's quite the whos-who of college football.
Just want to thank the LORD for putting me in the position Im in today..... as of right now these are my TOP 8 Universitys pic.twitter.com/d0F55iegUx— Perrion Winfrey (@perrionwin) May 26, 2019
Along with Winfrey, the nation's top 2020 tight end in Darnell Washington included Penn State in his top-12 along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, and Tennessee. Just as Winfrey, this is an absolute whos-who of college football and Washington will have his pick of any school he desires. Penn State will be hard pressed to land his services.

Not so great
On the not-as-great side of things, Penn State missed out on one of their top overall targets and arguably their top running back on the board in Marshawn Lloyd. Lloyd pledged his services to the South Carolina Gamecocks over Memorial Day weekend. With Lloyd off the board, the Lions will have to shift their attention to other targets such as Keyvone Lee, RJ Moten, and Jalen Berger. Clearly, the Nittany Lions are left with plenty of great options.
2020 outside linebacker commit Derek Wingo received his invite to the Opening Finals. For a recruit that some schools doubted if he could play linebacker at the next level, he's having quite the offseason and impressing just about every person that gets to see him play. The Nittany Lions may have landed a potential superstar in Wingo.
