One of the best players in the nation's capital is coming north. Four-star offensive tackle Olu Fashanu has verbally committed to Penn State.
Fashanu has been on the Nittany Lions' radar for the past few months, with the offensive lineman receiving a scholarship offer while on an unofficial visit back in late November. He was on hand to watch Penn State drub his hometown Maryland Terrapins on Senior Day.
The Fashanu File
- Class: 2020
- Size: 6'5/320
- Pos: OT
- School: Gonzaga (Washington, DC)
- Composite Rating: ★★★★ (.8906)
- Composite Rank: No. 349 overall, No. 32 OT
He holds offers from some of the best programs in college football, including Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Michigan, and Florida. He was scheduled to take an official visit to Florida this upcoming weekend, but it stands to reason that trip will no longer happen.
Since his offer, Fashanu has been on campus twice, once in late March and again just this past weekend. Getting him back on campus this weekend was a huge priority for the Nittany Lions, as his stock could skyrocket in the coming months after he was invited to The Opening Finals.
Penn State's 2020 recruiting class now sits at 11 members, with more than half of them being offensive linemen. The Nittany Lions now have the No. 10 recruiting class in the nation and No. 2 class in the Big Ten, behind Ohio State.
