New commitments

Penn State landed four new commitments over the weekend, with the possibility of more as the week goes on.

First, Penn State got the ball rolling with a commitment from another Lackawanna product, Ji'Ayir Brown. At 6'0 and 203 pounds, Brown could line up at either safety or cornerback.

Next came one of the staff's top targets, four-star wide receiver Jaden Dottin. He was arguably the top receiver left on their board, so this is a huge win.

Fatorma Mulbah also threw his hat in the ring. A three-star defensive tackle out of Harrisburg, PA, Mulbah is an absolute tank at 6'3, 270 pounds, and with almost no bad weight. This could be a huge win for the staff down the road.

Last but certainly not least, Coziah Izzard rounded out the weekend. The four-star defensive tackle brings big-time talent to one of the most difficult positions to recruit in college football.

Unfortunately, things weren't all on the upside. Penn State lost one of it's best recruits in the 2020 class in four-star linebacker Derek Wingo. With Curtis Jacobs in the fold, this isn't the massive loss we could've seen, but Wingo has a ton of potential. It would've been better to have him at Penn State, plain and simple.

Penn State's top target at safety, four-star Jordan Morant, also pledged his services to the Michigan Wolverines. Penn State took the early lead in his recruitment, but despite an official visit this month, he had been trending away for some time. Still, it's tough to see him end up at a division rival

Enzo Sets a date

One of Penn State's top targets Enzo Jennings was on campus for an official visit this past weekend. Coming out of that, he announced on Twitter that he will have a big announcement on Thursday morning.

If this is to be a commitment announcement, Penn State has to like its chances here.
