Following a camp performance offer over the summer and Lasch Bash visit that same weekend, three-star offensive tackle Ibrahim Traore (New York City) has made a decision on his college football team. The big man from NYC is heading to Penn State.
Traore was not a stranger to the Nittany Lions, having visited for junior day this March, but it took seeing the New York prospect in person for the staff to extend the offer back in July.
The Traore File
- Class: 2020
- Size: 6-5/290 lbs
- Pos: Offensive Tackle
- School: Frederick Douglass Academy (New York, NY)
- Composite Rating: ★★★ (.8593)
- Composite Rank: No. 822 overall (No. 70 OT)
While Traore had a few Big Ten offers in his pocket from Indiana, Rutgers, Purdue, and Minnesota, Penn State was the one he coveted. He also reported offers from Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, West Virginia, Temple, and Buffalo.
Traore is a big body with high level athleticism. As with many high school offensive linemen, he'll need to add strength to that big frame, and develop his fundamentals as he begins to face high level talent across the line. With that said, it's always a plus to see a player earn his offer as the result of a standout performance in front of what are now his future coaches.
Penn State's class now sits at 25 members, and No. 13 nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Traore makes six offensive linemen in the 2020 class.
