Penn State has found plenty of success with Canadian talent in recent years. The Nittany Lions have once again gone north of the 49th to land their latest prospect. Montreal native, and three-star WR Malick Meiga has committed to Penn State.
Meiga first appeared on Penn State's radar in May when the coaching staff extended their scholarship offer. They joined the likes of Tennessee, Syracuse, and West Virginia who all had sent out their own offers to the big receiver earlier in the year. Louisville, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Minnesota, and Illinois all joined the party later on in the spring.

He returned to camp in early-June for a camp visit that appears to have solidified his standing with the NIttany Lion staff. He also visited Syracuse and Alabama for camps during that same time period. His final visit before today's announcement came this past weekend for the Lasch Bash.
Meiga is a big body, and displayed high level athleticism on the camp circuit earlier this year. His 4.42 40-yard time and 35.8" vertical at a May Opening Regional camp in particular stand out. Unlike future Canadian teammates Daniel Joseph, Jesse Luketa, and Jonathan Sutherland, however, he's played his high school ball in Quebec, and will likely need a bit of seasoning before making an impact in the Big Ten.
Penn State's 2020 recruiting class is now 21 members strong, and checks in at No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite. Meiga is the fourth receiver in the glass, joining four-star Jaden Dottin, and three-stars Parker Washington, and Norval Black (JUCO).
