After an opening day win over Idaho to kick off the 2019 season, James Franklin kept the good times rolling and pulled in another 2020 commitment in offensive lineman Devin Willock.
Willock earned his Penn State offer back in late July when he visited campus. He holds scholarship offers from Boston College, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Buffalo, Rutgers, Howard, and Virginia. Half of his 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions were in favor of Boston College.
The Willock File
- Class: 2020
- Size: 6'7/360 lbs
- Pos: Offensive Guard
- School: Paramus Catholic (Paramus, NJ)
- Composite Rating: ★★★ (0.8499)
- Composite Rank: #1,055 (#24 in NJ)
Willock's commitment is great news for Penn State, not only because he's the size of a damn truck and is still in high school, but because his commitment means that Franklin and his staff were once again able to go into New Jersey and pull a player from one of the highest-profile high schools in the state–Paramus Catholic.
Willock's commitment brings Penn State's 2020 class to a total of 24 members. Willock is the fifth offensive lineman to join the class. Franklin has previously stated that he plans on taking up to 30 players in the 2020 class.
Willock's commitment puts Penn State at No. 14 in the country and No. 3 in the Big Ten.
