Penn State has made the top five for the top dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2021, Caleb Williams. The Nittany Lions are joined by Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, and Maryland.
A Washington DC native, Williams picked up his Penn State offer over two years ago and has made the trip up to State College a number of times since then. He's shot up the recruiting rankings over the past year, currently sitting at the No. 5 prospect in the entire 2021 class.
Landing Williams would be a huge win for James Franklin and Co., giving the staff their first five-star signal-caller since arriving in State College. By the 247SportsComposite ratings, Williams would be the highest-rated quarterback to ever commit to Penn State and third-highest rated prospect to ever join the Nittany Lions, behind only Derrick Williams and Micah Parsons.
Oklahoma currently leads on the 247Sports Crystal Ball with 80% of the picks, but there is still time for Penn State to make its case here.
