Top Targets' Top Lists
Penn State is still in the running for four of America's most talented recruits in the 2021 class. Five-star running back TreVeyon Henderson, four-star tight end Thomas Fidone, four-star athlete Zakee Wheatley, and four-star wide receiver Marcus Burke all released their top schools, all of which included Penn State.
Henderson is one of the most electrifying recruits in the country and is at the top of the wish list for countless elite programs. He's visited Penn State in the past but the staff desperately needs to get him back on campus eventually to try and pull back to the front of the pack. His top-nine consists of Penn State, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, North Carolina, Michigan, and Oklahoma.
Fidone released a top-six of Penn State, Notre Dame, Iowa, Michigan, LSU, and Nebraska. The top tight end recruit in the country, Fidone brings an exciting level of playmaking ability. Penn State recently lost a commitment from the only tight end commit in their 2021 class, Nick Elksnis. Back to the drawing board, the Lions could turn to Fidone to fill that spot. With the very recent success of Mike Gesicki and Pat Freiermuth, Penn State has proven capable of developing top-flight tight ends.
Wheatley, one of the most intriguing athletes in the country included the Lions in his top-eight alongside Northwestern, Pitt, Michigan State, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Wisconsin. He projects as either a receiver or safety in college.
Burke put out a top-five of Miami, Florida, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Penn State. He's a talented receiver recruit out of Jacksonville, FL. With Ja'Juan Seider on the staff, there should never be a recruit in Florida that is completely out of reach for Penn State.
Pryor is a Buckeye
Once the top running back targets for Penn State, 2021 four-star Evan Pryor (Cornelius, NC) has announced his commitment to Ohio State.
If there's one position on the Penn State roster that can afford to lose out on a top target, it's running back. With running backs coach and ace recruiter Ja'Juan Seider on the job, Penn State will still get a very talented option (Henderson?) to fill the running back spot in the 2021 class.
