Lions Miss Out on Armitage's Top-Five

We recently put out a set of predictions for the remainder of Penn State's 2021 recruiting class. One of those predictions was four-star defensive end Aaron Armitage. Naturally, he put out a list of top-five schools that did not include Penn State.

The blue-chip defensive end who hails from the same high school as Nittany Lion Jayson Oweh appears to be headed elsewhere to play his college ball (though nothing is certain yet, top groups can change). James Franklin and his staff can't be too upset though, as it's clear that Armitage is interested in branching out of the Northeast with a top group of schools in California, Florida, Oregon, and Louisiana.

Kiner Set Commitment Date

Four-star running back Corey Kiner (Roger Bacon, OH) has officially set a commitment date for July 4.

The blue-chip running back is one of the names at the top of the Lions' list at the position along with Michigan' Donovan Edwards. No one seems to have much of a guess as to where Kiner is headed yet, with the majority of his 247Sports Crystal Ball picks listed as "cloudy".

New Offers

Penn State remained busy in the offer department, extending more several new scholarship offers in the past week.

New Kicker offer

In addition to those offers, Penn State also moved on arguably the top kicking prospect in the nation, Bethlehem, PA (Liberty) native Sander Sahaydak. While our pals at 247Sports haven't put together a rating quite yet, Kohl's Kicking ranks Sahaydak as a five-star prospect, and their top kicker in the nation. All five Crystal Ball predictions have been made since this weekend's offer, and all pick the Nittany Lions.
