Penn State's 2021 recruiting class currently stands at 12 commitments, with 25% hailing from the Great Lakes State. The Lions are looking to add to their haul from Sparty and Harbaugh's backyard with four-star offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger (Clarkston, MI). The blue chip tackle prospect unveiled his final four on Wednesday evening with the Nittany Lions making the cut.
Dellinger, a high school teammate of fellow Penn State target, four-star offensive guard Rocco Spindler, is one of a handful of prospects along the offensive line that have showed high interest in the Nittany Lions with the arrival of new position coach Phil Trautwein in January. Dellinger made his way to Happy Valley in early-February for a junior day visit, and quickly included the Lions among his favorite schools.
There is no timeline for a decision from Dellinger, but the extension of the NCAA's recruiting dead period through at least the end of June makes him one of many recruits to watch over the coming weeks. With all three Crystal Ball pics, LSU appears to be the favorite at this point. However, any delay in a decision until he can take visits would give the Lions as good of a shot as they could ask for if they get him back on campus.
Penn State's 2021 class currently ranks No. 15 nationally according to 247Sports.
