upcoming Announcements
Penn State will see two of their top remaining targets announce their respective commitments in the coming weeks. First up will be 2021 four-star linebacker Jamari Buddin. The Belleville, MI native has a scheduled announcement for July 17. A run of 247 Crystal Balls have given Penn State 100% of the predictions going into Friday's announcement.

Following Buddin will be another four-star prospect out of Michigan, offensive lineman Rocco Spindler. The big guard is set to commit to his school of choice on August 8. The Lions best shot at landing Spindler likely required a return trip to Happy Valley. He previously visited in early-February to meet new offensive line coach Phil Trautwein. That visit of course never happened due to the Covid-19 dead period, making it unlikely this one goes in Penn State's favor.

Round of Cuts
Arguable the two most important players left on Penn State's defensive board, Derrick Davis Jr. and De'Jahn Warren, narrowed their focus to seven schools each.
First, I would like to thank all of the schools that have recruited me and have taken the time to reach out to me over the past 3 years. I am extremely blessed and humble to announce my top seven schools!!! pic.twitter.com/DmskaGtepC

Davis, the No. 2 safety in the country in the 2021 class, has been to Penn State numerous times. He also has a great connection with the staff through cornerback coach and former Gateway head coach Terry Smith. This is far from a lock, however, with Ohio State in particular catching Davis' eye.
Warren is the No. 2 overall JUCO product in the country. Given Penn State's recent pipeline to Lackawanna C.C. and the fact that Penn State is the only school Warren has been able to visit, it's easy to feel like the Lions are in the lead at this very moment. However, Warren is adamant that he wants to take visits before deciding. He has scheduled four official visits to Penn State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Georgia. Those visits are of course up in the air given the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic.
