Drew Allar is QB No. 2

If you want to compete with the Alabama and Clemson's of the world, you need to be led by a superstar at the quarterback position. Even with Beau Pribula in the fold, Penn State increased their odds of finding their guy with the addition of Drew Allar. The four-star signal caller chose the Lions over Notre Dame.

official Visits to Come

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Penn State is going ahead with the assumption that the now year-long dead period will not be extended beyond its current expiration date of May 31, and scheduling official visits. Thus far, there's two weekends in June that are shaping up to be big weekends in building the 2022 class. It appears that June 11-13 will be for some of their top targets and the last weekend of the month (25-27) will be for the current commits to finally come together and meet in person. Here are those confirmed already and which weekend they'll be attending.

Top Groups

With Penn State's efforts to reestablish a strong presence in Philadelphia, and the constant need for shutdown corners, St Joseph's Prep's four-star Keenan Nelson Jr. is huge priority for James Franklin and his staff. Nelson recently announced his top-10. The list includes Penn State along with Pitt, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Maryland, Wisconsin, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers.

Along with Nelson, three-star cornerback Avery Powell included Penn State in his top-six along with Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Boston College, and Nebraska.
