It was one of the busiest recruiting weekends in a long time for Penn State, with five players coming on board. In case you missed anything, the commits are:
- JUCO offensive lineman JB Nelson
- Three-star linebacker Keon Wylie
- Four-star defensive tackle Zane Durant
- Four-star defensive end Tyreese Fearbry
- Three-star defensive tackle Kaleb Artis
Penn State's 2022 recruiting class is now up to 17 members and currently sits at third-best in the nation. Of those commits, nine are 247Sports' Composite four stars, six are three-stars, and two, JUCO OL JB Nelson and punter Alex Bacchetta, are still unranked. Nelson is a solid three-star prospect in 247Sports' own rankings, however. Once both receive ratings on the composite, a combination of 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN, this Nittany Lion class could quickly look a lot more impressive on the national scale. #RankThePunter

Decision Day For Nicholas Singleton
It's decision day for four-star Reading running back Nicholas Singleton. The No. 2 player in Pennsylvania has been a top target for the Nittany Lions for some time now and all it comes down to Penn State and Notre Dame. After not signing a running back in the last cycle, landing a guy like Singleton would ease a lot of concerns about the future of the position. The Governor Mifflin star is scheduled to announce around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Allar Named to the elite 11
Penn State quarterback commit Drew Allar spent his weekend out in California competing in the Elite 11 Finals. Allar started the weekend strong and closed things out by being named a member of the 2021 Elite 11 Class.
Rivals.com ranked Allar as the No. 9 quarterback at the event and heaped praise on his arm strength. A rankings bump should be coming soon from the outlet.
Flowers, McNeil Are 107% Locked in
Not to be lost in the shuffle of the weekend, two of Penn State football's commits shut down their recruitment in the past few days.
Maleek McNeil tweeted out the 107% locked-in graphic on Thursday after his latest visit to Happy Valley. At 6'8, 340, he's one of the biggest prospects James Franklin has ever landed and could anchor a future offensive line.
Four-star Harrisburg athlete Mehki Flowers also shut things down this weekend. One of the more vocal members of this current recruiting class, Flowers is going to be a huge peer recruiter going forward and someone who can help push this class up a notch.
