It seems like Flowers has been destined to sign with Penn State for quite a while now. He held other offers from Arizona State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pitt, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, but it's been clear for a long time he was going to sign with the Nittany Lions.
Flowers has the skillset to play wide receiver or safety, and can play either well. Has good speed and burst, meaning he can close as a safety or pull away as a receiver. Brian Dohn of 247Sports describes him as "Agile and athletic. Excellent body control. Tough for defenders to get clean shot in space. Possesses field awareness. Is physical and plays with attitude."
Flowers has the versatility and skillset that will be useful for Penn State. Whether he plays right away at wide receiver remains to be seen. Penn State will have Parker Washington and KeAndre Lambert-Smith both coming back, plus you expect some of those 2021 guys to make a leap. You've also got two other talented receivers in the 2022 class. Still, it wouldn't be a surprise if the staff tries to find a way to get Flowers some playing time his freshman year. He might be a candidate to play in the minimum number of games while maintaining his redshirt.
