Penn State has recruited running backs better than almost anybody, and they're looking to continue that in the 2022 class. Four-star prospect Tevin White has included the Nittany Lions among his top-six schools.

Penn State is joined in the group by Georgia, Arizona State, Duke, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

White hails from North Stafford High School in Stafford, Virginia, the same school that current Nittany Lion running back Devyn Ford attended. Like Ford, White is a highly-touted recruit whose final decision looks to be coming down to heading to State College or heading down south for his collegiate career.

White has been on the Penn State radar for some time, earning an offer back in March of 2019. He ended up visiting University Park three times after said offer. 100% of his Crystal Ball picks are currently in favor of the Lions, including Lions247 insider Sean Fitz.

White is one of the staff's top targets at the position in the 2022 class, along with in-state blue-chipper Nicholas Singleton. The Lions are currently without a running back in the 2021 class and while there are a few on the radar, it is likely that James Franklin would be happy to accept commitments from both White and Singleton in the 2022 class, if possible.

White's 247Sports scouting report reads as follows:

Good size with ability to play at 210 pounds. All-purpose back ability and size to be workhorse. Big play ability. Accelerates quickly through hole. Patient runner with vision between the tackles. Changes direction well and at high rate of speed. Understands how to set up blocks at second level. Has ability to gain the edge. Effective pass catcher out of backfield. Can also line up in slot or wide for mismatches. Has to get stronger, especially in lower body. Must display tackle-breaking ability. Has to show he can consistently get tough yards. Multi-year starter at Top 20 program. Day 3 NFL draft ability.

By the time White will be ready to enroll, Penn State's running back room will (depending on early departures/transfers) consist of Noah Cain, Ford, Caziah Holmes, Keyvone Lee, as well as any 2021 running back commits.
