Penn State continued its great work in the 2023 recruiting class on Tuesday with three-star offensive lineman Joshua Miller's announcement that the Nittany Lions are part of his top-five schools.
Penn State is joined in the top group by Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech. Clemson and Penn State are the favorites here for some time, with the Nittany Lions leading on the 247Sports Crystal Ball with all three predictions.
Miller is seen by many as someone who is expected to get a nice bump in the ratings when it comes time for the 2023 class to be reevaluated.
Already standing at 6'5, 320 pounds as a high school junior, the fact that the Virginia-based prospect has some of the best recruiters in the country chasing him down says a lot about his potential. Currently, the Penn State 2023 recruiting class stands at four commits, including fellow interior offensive line prospect Alex Birchmeier, the top-rated interior lineman in the class (also from Virginia).
Though these 2023 prospects are still two years away from enrolling, it's clear that James Franklin and Phil Trautwein are making an effort to bring on big, powerful players to beef up an offensive line that has underperformed to this point in 2021.
Miller has not yet announced when a potential commitment will be announced.
