247Sports Scouting Report

Katshir runs well and you can see it in his ability to get to the sideline in pass coverage. He moves well laterally, and that will be an asset as he shifts to linebacker at the college level. A few key pieces in his development will be in using his hands more, and more quickly, to get off blocks since the play comes so much quicker at the linebacker spot, and improving his tackling technique. He sometimes dives into a tackle with his shoulder rather than wrapping up the ball carrier. He will also need to add size and strength so he can play close to the line of scrimmage, and his ability to run downhill makes him an intriguing fit at linebacker. -- Brian Dohn

RLR's Take

His 6-foot-3 frame is perfect for Katshir to add more weight once he arrives on campus to successfully play outside linebacker at the next level. He possesses excellent ball skills and his speed will be a great addition to the Nittany Lion defense. He's also versatile enough that depending on how he develops, a position change could be in store at some point based on how the roster shakes out.

Moving Forward

Red light.

Katshir underwent surgery on his shoulder in November, following the District 3 Class 6A title game. He should have a quick and smooth recovery before his arrival at Penn State, but don't expect the staff to push him too much, especially with the number of bodies they have at linebacker. The three-star is an extremely athletic player and with some development from coaches at Penn State, expect to see him get a few rotations as a redshirt freshman.
