Ji'Ayir Brown continues the Lackawanna-to-the Penn State secondary pipeline, as he follows in Jaquan Brisker's footsteps who made the transition from the Falcons a year ago. If Brown is as successful as Brisker was in his first year in the program he will be a nice addition to the Penn State secondary that is due for some reloading in 2020.

With Lamont Wade expected to return to Happy Valley for his senior season, Brown likely won't be counted on to fill a starting role right out of the gate. There's enough depth between Wade, Brisker, and Jonathan Sutherland to ensure that. Still, if Brown can step in and prove he deserves playing time, he's likely to get a chance at as much as he can handle. With only two years of eligibility remaining Brown is going to be looking to make his mark quickly after arriving on campus.
As with most JuCo transfers that aren't offensive linemen, a redshirt season is probably unlikely for Brown. At the very least, he will likely be a part of most of, if not all, of the special teams units. But as mentioned before, he will also surely be given every opportunity to prove that he deserves to be in the mix at one of the safety spots.
