Sean Spencer and Co. head to western Ohio for another Wild Dog in defensive end Brandon Taylor. He's the latest in what's becoming a long list of Ohioans to make their way to Happy Valley.

Brandon Taylor
Position: Strong-side defensive end
Height/Weight: 6'2/250 lbs.
High School: Lima Senior (Lima, OH)
247Composite Rank: ★★★(0.8721)

Commitment Date: June 28, 2019

RLR's Take

Taylor plays a very physical brand of football. He's a bit slow off the ball, but his strength and speed have allowed him to become a playmaker. He plays bigger than his 6'2 frame would indicate and he is always around the football. Taylor is more than willing to play the run and does a great job of correctly reading quarterbacks on option plays.

Moving Forward

Red Light.

There's a lot to like about Taylor, but he needs time to develop into an every-down player. A year on the scout team will allow him to hone his craft against some high-level offensive lineman every day, preparing him for the rigors of the Big Ten. He could see some time in blowouts, but Taylor should be a true redshirt in his first year before his role begins to increase over time.
