Penn State is getting a lot more publicity coming off a house-wrecking run to the 2016 Big Ten Championship. On Thursday night, Saquon Barkley joined the midnight edition of ESPN's SportsCenter with noted Maryland alum, Scott Van Pelt.
As you can see in the video, James Franklin has drilled his players to only talk about daily success and Akron, Akron, Akron. Barkley deftly deflects questions about what would make a successful season in State College for 2017. He does, however, reminisce about 2016's biggest play, and his weight room exploits that garnered national attention.
It seems ESPN has been talking PSU a lot lately, as they sent college football analyst Trevor Matich to campus just a few weeks ago. Barkley was also featured on ESPN's Sports Science, and the BTN bus tour visited Happy Valley this week to preview the upcoming season. There's certainly a national buzz around the Nittany Lions in 2017.
