The last time Penn State ventured west to Kinnick Stadium, Bill O'Brien's squad thumped the Hawkeyes 38-14 under the lights. James Franklin will look to make it two straight primetime victories in Iowa City when the Nittany Lions return on September 23. The Big Ten opener for both teams was announced as a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC this morning.

After years of struggles vs. the Hawkeyes, the Lions are now owners of a three game winning streak against Kirk Ferentz' squad. The last two, in particular, have not been close.
In 2012, Matt McGloin, Bill Belton, and the Nittany Lion offense lit up the Hawkeyes for 504 yards en route to a 24-point victory that was never that close.
In Iowa's return to Happy Valley in 2016, things were not much better for the visitors, as they fell 41-14 and gave up 599 yards of offense, 359 of which came on the ground via Saquon Barkley, and Tommy Stevens.
