After a 12 tackle performance on Saturday, Marcus Allen was named the LOTT Impact Trophy Player of the Week. Allen also provided the signature play from Penn State's win, blowing up a Max Browne pass for Penn State's first safety in seven seasons.

Allen beat out seven other nominees to win the weekly award, including Indiana LB Tegray Scales, Clemson DT Christian Wilkins, and Oklahoma LB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
In recognition for his performance, Penn State receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund. Allen was named to the preseason LOTT Impact Trophy Watch List in May along with senior Linebacker Jason Cabinda.
The trophy is named for Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott and is the first and only college football award that recognizes equally both athletic performance, and the personal character of the player. In its 14 year history, Carl Nassib (2015) remains Penn State’s lone recipient.
