The first football Saturday in Happy Valley is but 10 weeks away. When the Nittany Lions take the field on September 1 vs. Appalachian State, they will once again do so in front of a packed student section. After a week of sales, the 21,000-plus tickets sold out in just 48 minutes.

If comparisons are your thing, that is 41 minutes quicker than the 2017 sale, which saw the allotment disappear in 89 minutes

The raucous student section has played a key part in Penn State's 14 game home winning streak, and 20-1 record over the last three seasons. That figures to be the case once again in 2018 when the Lions welcome the likes of Ohio State, Michigan State, Iowa, and Wisconsin to Beaver Stadium.

Tickets throughout the 106,572 seat stadium figure to be at a premium for what may be the most anticipated home slate in years. Limited options appeared to be available for many games during the Nittany Lion Club presale earlier this month.
