In a piece of absolutely devastating news, incoming freshman tackle Nana Asiedu announced his football career must come to an end. Asiedu, a four-star offensive tackler recruit out of Virginia, posted a note on his Twitter account on Wednesday night in which he said a heart condition will prevent him from ever taking the field.
It's an optimistic take on a terrible situation, and while it's sad to watch the football career of someone with so much promise come to the most abrupt end imaginable, some solace can be taken in knowing that doctors were able to identify this issue before it ever became a much bigger problem. It's also great to see that Asiedu will stick around on a full scholarship, as he's already shown that he's a tremendous ambassador for the program and, more importantly, the type of person you want around your team.
Whatever happens next for Asiedu, all of us at Roar Lions Roar wish him the best.
