Blake Gillikin was the No. 1 punting prospect in the country coming out of high school, and he has certainly lived up to the hype through his first two seasons. On Wednesday, Gillikin was again named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List. The award is presented by the Augusta Sports Council to the top punter in college football.
In April, Gillikin was named as a 2018 team co-captain along with Trace McSorley and Nick Scott. Last season, Gillikin was honored as on the second-team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media. In his career, Gillikin has a 43.2 yards per punt average and has had 25 punts downed inside the 10.
Gillikin looks to become the first Nittany Lion to win the award. Last year, Michael Dickson of Texas won and was selected in the fifth round by the Seattle Seahawks.
