You've more than likely already heard about Manny Bowen's return to the program and Brailyn Franklin's exit from the team, but the Nittany Lions roster added a few new faces heading into camp.

  • No. 33 - RB C.J. Holmes (Holmes was dismissed from Notre Dame on a shoplifting charge that was later dropped.)
  • No. 49 - P Cade Pollard
  • No. 50 - OL Will Knutsson
  • No. 63 - Colin DeBoef
  • No. 88 - WR Dan Chisena
  • No. 90 - K Rafael Checa
  • No. 95 - K Vlad Hilling
  • No. 99 - K Justin Tobin

The biggest name here is obviously CJ Holmes. He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and will have three years of eligibility after he sits out a year to transfer. You can read more about him from our story earlier this summer when Lions247 reported on his addition to the program. He could play a big role in 2019 as Penn State will lose at least two scholarship running backs.

With redshirt freshman walk-on Carson Landis and true freshman Jake Pinegar the only other true kickers on the roster, one of the three walk-ons could potentially find themselves having some role on the team.
