As they do each week, Pro Football Focus's college branch posted their all-conference teams for the week. After a dominant win over Pitt (the final score was 51-6), Penn State expectedly had multiple players honored.
After another interception and a night spent hounding receivers that Kenny Pickett didn't throw to, Amani Oruwariye made his second appearance on the team. Miles Sanders appears as one of the team's running backs after racking up 119 yards on the ground. Ryan Bates got the nod at one of the tackle spots after helping to open holes for Sanders all night long. And...Ellis Brooks?

Brooks, the backup middle linebacker who logged 19 snaps in week two, picked up two tackles in the win (the score was 51-6, by the way). Judging by the rating given by PFF, and without going back and watching each one of his snaps, I'd assume he did an excellent job of helping to plug up the run game, even on plays he didn't make the tackle. Oh, and he received the highest rating of any defensive player in the conference. Sure! So, hey! Good for you, Ellis!
In addition to their conference honors, both Bates and Oruwariye picked up spots on Pro Football Focus' National Team of the Week on Monday. Both the Big Ten and national honors are the first for the Nittany Lions in 2018.
