Last Saturday, Penn State defeated Pitt by a final score of 51-6. Despite all of Pitt's positive vibes heading into the game, they scored just six points against Penn State, who scored 51 points of their own. The margin of victory for the Penn State Nittany Lions was 45 points. 45 being the difference between the 51 points scored by Penn State, and the six scored by Pitt .
The 51-6 win marks the second-straight year that the Nittany Lions have defeated the Panthers, after the Panthers pulled out a narrow victory back in 2016.
One of the players on the field for the 2016 and 2017 editions of those games was none other than Saquon Barkley. Barkley was a standout in both games and had the chance to experience the environment surrounding the game in both Pittsburgh and State College. Yet, when asked by a reporter this week about the New York Giants' rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys, Barkley had this to say.
Asked about #NYGvsDAL rivalry, @Saquon pointed out that rivalries are kinda new to him given that Penn State really didn't have a true rival. "Pitt tried," he said, "but I think we saw last week how that (went)."
