Per a report from Mark Wogenrich of the Allentown Morning Call, one of the most beloved Penn State players in recent memory will be back at Beaver Stadium on Saturday for the homecoming. All-American Michael Mauti will serve as the honorary captain for the Nittany Lions 3:30 p.m. EDT clash with Michigan State. There will also reportedly be a photo session from 12 – 1 p.m. at the South Tunnel of Beaver Stadium.

Mauti was a standout linebacker for Penn State despite tearing his ACL three times in his career. He will forever be remembered in Penn State lore for his leadership after the NCAA handed down sanctions in July of 2012. Mauti played in the NFL from 2013 through 2017 for the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints. In April, he re-signed with the Saints, but was released by the team in May.
