Off a scintillating redshirt freshman season, Penn State's dynamic playmaker KJ Hamler was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America on Monday (full team). Though he made the team as a kick-returner, Hamler really did his damage to opposing defenses as a wide receiver. On the year he totaled 42 catches for 754 yards and five tuddies, while adding four rushes for 44 yards and a score, and 20 kickoff returns for 523 yards, a 26.2 yard/return average.
Hamler turned in Penn State's most electrifying play of the year when he ignited Beaver Stadium during the White Out.
Which led college football Twitter to take notice of the diminutive freshman and remark with amazing comments such as this...
KJ Hamler runs with his head snapped back like he's too fast for his own spine, I could not love him more— BUM CHILLUPS (@edsbs) September 30, 2018
So, congrats, KJ! May your speed but swell they fame in 2019.
