Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos was been named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list, awarded annually to College Football's Defensive Player of the Year, who best exemplifies integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community, and tenacity.
The rising junior is looked at as one of the best defensive players in the conference, if not the country heading into the 2019 season. He is joined by nine other players from the Big Ten on the 42-player watchlist. The entire list can be found here.
Gross-Matos was a dominant force for Brent Pry's defense last season, starting all 13 games while racking up 54 tackles and a whopping 20 tackles for loss. He was a first-team All-Conference selection by the media and a third-team selection by the coaches.
Carl Nassib is the only Nittany Lion to win the award, taking home the honor back in 2015 after his record-setting senior season.
