Watch list season rolls on with linebackers Micah Parson and Cam Brown both being named to the Butkus Award list. The award is given annually to the top linebacker in college football.

This is the second major award watch list appearance for Parsons, with the sophomore joining Yetur Gross-Matos on the the Bednarik Award watch list last week. The Harrisburg native lived up to his five-star hype as a true freshman, leading the team with 83 tackles, despite starting only one game. He figures to be a household name by the time the season comes to a close.

Cam Brown is entering his second season as a full-time starter. He racked up 63 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, a pair of sacks, and led the Nittany Lions with three forced fumbles. He also led the way for the linebackers in coverage, putting up a position-best six pass breakups. The senior and former four-star prospect out of Maryland figures to be one of the leaders for the Nittany Lion defense this fall.

LaVar Arrington (1999) and Paul Posluszny (2005) are the only Nittany Lions to take home one of college football's most prestigious awards.
