The Nittany Lions have released their third depth chart of the season ahead of this weekend's game against Pitt. After taking some time to figure things out, the Lions' depth chart is starting to settle in.

Offense

Pos. First Team Second Team Third Team
QB Sean Clifford Will Levis Ta'Quon Roberson OR Michael Johnson Jr.
RB Ricky Slade OR Journey Brown OR Noah Cain OR Devyn Ford - -
WR-X Justin Shorter Daniel George Cam Sullivan-Brown
WR-H Jahan Dotson Dan Chisena Weston Carr
WR-Z KJ Hamler Mac Hippenhammer Weston Carr
TE/H Pat Freiermuth Nick Bowers Zack Kuntz, Brenton Strange
LT Rasheed Walker Des Holmes Bryce Effner
LG Steven Gonzalez OR Mike Miranda - Bryce Effner
C Michal Menet Mike Miranda Hunter Kelly
RG C.J. Thorpe OR Mike Miranda - Anthony Whigan
RT Will Fries Des Holmes Caedan Wallace

Notes:

  • It appears Ricky Slade isn't too deep in the dog house after some fumble issues last week. It will be interesting to see how the running back rotation changes after a lackluster performance against Buffalo.
  • Daniel George is still listed with the second team, even after suffering a hand injury on Saturday. As we all know, the staff doesn't discuss injuries so it's unknown what his status is for this week. His inclusion, however, is a good sign as season ending injuries typically drop a player off of the depth chart.
  • Mike Miranda got the start at right guard last week after CJ Thorpe led things off against Idaho. It seems the battle is still raging but it should be Thorpe's turn to be the guy out there on the opening drive.
