Penn State pulled out a hard-fought 34-27 win Saturday vs. Indiana. For the second straight week, the defense allowed 14 points in the first quarter but then was able to slow down the Hoosiers offense. The game got close in the fourth quarter as Indiana pulled within three. As anyone who has ever read this article, you can guess where this was going.
Even though it was a win, the folks on Twitter still needed to vent, so let's take our weekly look at James Franklin's Twitter mentions.
Ketchup toast and diet green tea for breakfast-Beat Indiana and get to 9-1 on the season edition...#WEARE #PENNSTATE #NITTANYNATION #BEATHOSEHOOSIERS@coachjfranklin @SpenceChaos @seancliff14 @Shizzeee_ @_groovy55 @Kj_hamler pic.twitter.com/PCh3HZjSYm— Mark Lohr (@mark_a_mania) November 16, 2019
Ten games in and the questions remain with Mark. The top hat is such a mystery, but I don't even know where that ranks in terms of confusing things.
Scott has that 1-0 mentality.

PSU isnt the same team before Minnesota. @coachjfranklin - you need to do better job coaching and prepare the team better.— Joseph Kolcun (@Josephkolcun) November 16, 2019
After going up 7-0, the Nittany Lions gave up some big pass plays as Indiana tied the game at seven.
@coachjfranklin needs to revamp his coaching staff! Too many inconsistencies for too long!!— A.Rife15 (@RiffRaf15) November 16, 2019
Indiana 14, Penn State 10
Something needs to be done our offense is so disjointed its maddening play calling seems to be picked out of th hat come on @coachjfranklin— Hawaiian Lion (@LionAlii80) November 16, 2019
Tensions were rising as Indiana kept hanging around.
does @coachjfranklin blow another double digit fourth quarter lead at home?? stay tuned— #FreePouncey (@24_DQ) November 16, 2019
We shall see.
@coachjfranklin it is obvious you and your coaching staff have learned nothing over last 2 years, still lack luster performance after a loss. Coaching sucks! Step up you game— Tom Dougherty Jr (@TomDoughertyJr) November 16, 2019
Indiana scored again and cut the Penn State lead to three.
@coachjfranklin do you even have the first concept on how to put a game away? Its really amazing how you just dont get it.— Phil Melick (@PMPSU) November 16, 2019
Funny you should ask Paul.
Sick and tired of teams choking under you @coachjfranklin figure it out.— snoz (@gregzhouse) November 16, 2019
These were before Penn State's final drive.
its embarassing for a team with this much talent and depth with so many consecutive top tier recruiting class to struggle with inferior teams so often. just makes me sick to my stomach @coachjfranklin— #FreePouncey (@24_DQ) November 16, 2019
Someone help this man.
@coachjfranklin @RickyRahne Great win! Rather than use Twitter to simply criticize, I want to help you get better. You might want to take a look at your last drive. You couldve ended the game without the 4th-and-goal and Indiana getting the ball back. https://t.co/3kshOISTMc— Sam Ligeros (@sam_ligeros) November 16, 2019
Sam would like to discuss clock management, but at least he was happy with the win.
My thoughts are if you have to say "As a Penn State football fan" over and over again before bashing the team then maybe you're just a troll account.
@coachjfranklin What is wrong with your secondary? They were supposed to be a strength this year and not the weak link. You need a new secondary coach.— Rick L. (@Ralsha10) November 16, 2019
Penn State wins!
