It's been a busy day for sophomore linebacker Micah Parsons. On the heels of being named a First Team All-American by Pro Football Focus, the Harrisburg native was named the Big Ten's Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year, as well as first team All-Conference by both the coaches and media. His is the first sophomore to ever win the Linebacker of the Year honor.

The Butkus Award finalist has become one of the nation's best playmakers at linebacker, despite wrapping up just his second season at the position after moving from the defensive line upon his arrival in Happy Valley. Parsons once again led all Nittany Lions with 95 tackles, while finishing second on the team with 11 tackles for loss. He also forced two fumbles, recovered one, and was responsible for three pass breakups.

Parsons joins Mike Mauti (2012) and Mike Hull (2014) as Penn State linebackers to win the conference honor.
