Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons and tight end Pat Freiermuth were named second team All-Americans by The Athletic on Wednesday. It's another accolade for each of the tremendous Nittany Lions, who have dotted multiple postseason honors lists.

Parsons was named to an All-American by Bleacher Report earlier this week. For the second straight season, he led the Nittany Lions tackles with 95.

Though Freiermuth missed out on being named as a John Mackey Award finalist, he too has earned plenty of recognition after his 41 catch season for 468 yards and 7 touchdowns. The sophomore tight end was named second team All-Big Ten earlier this month.

Penn State heads to the Cotton Bowl to take on Memphis on Dec. 28, but one can’t help to be exited for the 2020 campaign. With both Parsons and Freiermuth set to return, they will be on every watch list heading into the season as they look to build on their impressive young careers, with the NFL anxiously awaiting their arrival in 2021.
