While the upcoming fall season may be unsure, what is very clear is that college football can't wait to see what Micah Parsons and Pat Freiermuth do next. The two were named preseason first-team All-Americans by Athlon Sports. They were the only Nittany Lions to appear on any of the four preseason teams.
Penn State's dynamic duo is widely expected to wreak havoc whenever the season gets underway and prove why they have been named to essentially every watch list and All-America team this preseason has had to offer.
Somewhat surprisingly though, was running back Journey Brown not being named to any of the four teams (each of which listed two running backs, with a possible third in the all-purpose position). All in all, Travis Etienne, Chuba Hubbard, Najee Harris, Jaret Patterson, Kenneth Gainwell, Kennedy Brooks, Kylin Hill, Max Borghi, Javian Hawkins, and CJ Verdell were all given honors at the position, while Brown was left off.
But hey, he's only a guy that some are projecting to be a first-round pick in the next NFL Draft, so what do we know?
Despite Brown's snub, Penn State is one of only two Big Ten schools with two first-teamers. And even that comes with an asterisk since the other team is Iowa, and both of their first-teamers are specialists. The other conference foes to make the teams are listed below.
