We're all missing sports during this time, but the NBC Sports Network is throwing a bone to Penn State fans Friday night. The network announced “NBC Sports From the Vault” series, and will air the historic 1987 Fiesta Bowl between Penn State and Miami at 9:30 PM EST.

The No. 2 Nittany Lions finished the 1986 regular season and squared off with the vaunted Hurricanes after they both finished 11-0. Miami entered the game as anywhere between a 6.5-to-7 point favorite, but Penn State forced seven turnovers en-route to its second National Championship in four seasons.

In addition to airing the game, the Penn State Alumni Association is hosting a virtual watch party on their Facebook page with former Nittany Lions lettermen and special guests. The watch party will feature quarterback John Shaffer and fan-favorite kicker Massimo Manca amongst others and details can be found here.

We here at Roar Lions Roar will be following along, and we hope you will too. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and join in the conversation and the fun!
