Watch: Penn State Long Snapper Chris Stoll Gets Surprised with Full Scholarship

By Matthew Filipovits on October 9, 2020 at 6:31 pm

Penn State walk-on long snapper Chris Stoll is now a scholarship player.

Fellow former-walk on and current Minnesota Vikings receiver Dan Chisena helped break the news in a video call, giving these always fun announcements a very 2020 feel.

Stoll started all 13 games at long snapper last season and was about as accurate as they come. He had three tackles in coverage on the season and was awarded the Most Outstanding Run-On Award at the team's awards banquet. If we're being honest, the less you hear a long snapper name the better, so the fact that Stoll was barely talked about last season gives you an idea of just how good he was.

By our count Penn State now has 83 scholarship players on the roster, two below the NCAA limit.
