Penn State Reveals 'Penn State United' Logo to Be Worn On Football Uniforms This Year

The Nittany Lions will wear a 'Penn State United' patch on their uniforms, and decal on their helmets for the 2020 college football season.

The Nittany Lions are the latest in a long line of college football teams to add an element to their uniform in order to show their support for social justice initiatives.

The team released a statement along with the announcement, which reads:

Penn State football student-athletes will wear a logo in competition this year to symbolize our journey for unity. Our goal is construct a culture of respect, appreciation & empathy for all differences. We are a country, state & institution rooted in diversity, shared experience & hope. We believe now, more than ever, we can help create a better society by publicly & peacefully acknowledging our pursuit to move beyond simply tolerating differences to recognizing these differences can enrich our Commonwealth.
